Bug Reporter New Features

Following is a list of the most recent changes to the Apple Bug Reporter :

  • Search Enhancements:

      -Search within the Title, Problem Details & ADC Notes fields
       Enjoy the ability to now search for words in the Title, ADC Notes, Problem Description, or all fields.

      -Expanded Searching by Originated Date
       The 'Originated Date' can now be searched using 'greater than', 'less than', and by date range. See
       the 'Help' tab of the Apple Bug Reporter or the Bug Reporting FAQs for more information.

      -Searching with Wildcards
       Searching can now be done with wildcards. How to use wildcards can be found under the "Help"
       tab of the Apple Bug Reporter.

  • Enclosure Enhancements:

      -File Retrieval
       Files you have previously uploaded to a report can now be accessed and downloaded to your
       desktop.

      -Uploading Files with the Same Filename
       Files will no longer be replaced. Attempting to upload a file with the same filename as a
       previously uploaded file will result in a number being automatically appended to the end of the file
       name and uploading will continue.

  • Flag Reports to be Closed

    You are now able to mark your own reports for closure.

  • Archived Reports

    A new 'Archived' sub-tab has been added where your older reports will reside.

  • Help Section

    A new 'Help' tab has been added, with timeout information, site definitions, searching guidelines, and includes links to the Bug Reporting Best Practices and FAQ web pages.

  • Problem Description Template

    A new template has been made available that now allows users to inserted a description format into the Problem Description of a new report.

  • Retrieve Text After Timeout

    If you're working on a new report and your session expires, you can now press your back button, copy your text, restart your session, and paste your data in a new problem.

  • Selectable Rows

    In list view, you can now click anywhere in the row to select it to view the problem detail.

  • Column Resizing

    You now have the ability to resize the columns when viewing a list of reports.

  • Submitting Reports from iPhone/iPod touch

    Submitting reports from your iPhone or iPod touch, and viewing your existing reports while you're away from the office is now possible.

    Limitations: File uploads are currently not supported. Upload necessary files via your host system.
